"Cupooch is only one of countless new startup brands influenced by Irish heritage who've not been mentioned in the big media," explains Brendan, the visionary behind our journey. He reflects on the creation of CuHurl, developed despite Enterprise Ireland's initial scepticism. They, obviously, never heard that “culture and passion beat strategy for breakfast" and couldn't believe we'd achieved anything. Whereas, our new private partners took us seriously, and opted to show this authentic side in our new promotion."
The reality, as Brendan describes it, exists somewhere in the middle: "We're very serious about what we do, but we're a bunch of amateurs in an oversaturated digital D2C Shopify and TikTok overwhelmed world. When I saw other mass-market dog products, I thought they were so bad and thought, 'I can do that better.' I want people to look at us and feel the same, that they can do what I do – it keeps the wheel going, keeps people inspired."
